What color are you looking for?
Boxer Colors
Brindle, beige und weiß. : Brindle, fawn and white.
Technically speaking, there are only two colours – brindle and fawn. Boxers may or may not also have white markings (known as "flash")and the white boxer is simply a fawn or a brindle with very extensive white markings covering the whole or most of the coat . Fawn boxers have a solid fawn colour coat, in shades ranging from pale tan to deep deer red. Brindle boxers have the same fawn ground colours, overlaid with various degrees of dark striping. The correct term for any brindle is brindle - but depending on the fawn ground colour, concentration of striping and local terminology, they can be variously described as "light", "golden", "fawn", "red", "mahogany", "dark", "reverse" or "seal" brindle.
Black boxers do not exist – the colour gene responsible for black coat colour does not exist within the boxer breed (much as brindle does not exist for labradors, or harlequin for rottweilers). If you “see” a black boxer, it's a very dark brindle or sealed brindle.
What does "flashy" mean?
Flash refers to any white markings on a boxer. A plain or classic boxer has little white, generally confined to the feet and chest. A "flashy" boxer is one with more extensive white markings, extending some distance up the legs, on the face and possibly on the neck. Depending on the extent of the white markings, dogs are sometimes described as "flashy" or "semi-flashy". Flash is actually lack of pigmentation and is due to the dog having one copy of the extreme white spotting gene. A dog with two copies of that gene will be predominantly or completely white (ultra flashy!).

Character and Temperament
These are of paramount importance in the Boxer. Instinctively a "hearing" guard dog, his bearing is alert, dignified and self-assured. In the show ring, his behavior should exhibit constrained animation. With family and friends, his temperament is fundamentally playful, yet patient and stoical with children. Deliberate and wary with strangers, he will exhibit curiosity but, most importantly, fearless courage if threatened. However, he responds promptly to friendly overtures honestly rendered. His intelligence, loyal affection and tractability to discipline make him a highly desirable companion. Faults--Lack of dignity and alertness. Shyness.

Boxer History
The ancestors of the Boxer dog were known since the 16th century. It was however, due to selective breeding by Georg Alt, of Munich, Germany in the 1880's that produced the beginnings of this popular breed. Breeding a small Bullenbeiser bitch to a local Bullenbaiser dog, Both of which were mastiff type dogs now extinct, produced a parti colored dog subsequently bred to an English Bulldog. That breeding produced a male and female. The male was shown and later on became the first Boxer dog entered into the German Stud Book. The sister, a white bitch produced a daughter, Meta von der Passage. Most Boxer dogs today trace their heritage back to this bitch. Today, white puppies are oftten born, but a white Boxer is not acceptable according to the breed standard which recognizes fawn and brindle colors only. In fact, it is a disqualification for Boxers with a total of white markings exceeding one-third of the entire coat. The head of the dog is of utmost importance and has become more refined in Britain and North America than its European counter part.
It is a medium sized dog, square built, of good substance, short back, strong limbs, enegetic, the stride free and ground covering the carriage proud. Instinctively a quard dog, his bearing is alert, dignified selfassured. With family and friends, his temperament is playful, patient, stoical and loving of children. It is wary with strangers, exhibiting curiosity but, most importanly, fearless courage if threatened. Grooming a Boxer pup or adult just requires periodic brushing, and for exercise, good daily walk. The intelligence and loyal affection, willingnes to learn, make a Boxer pup a desirable companion. Obedience training is worthwhile for young Boxer pup because an untrained one can become unruly and destructive.
